STANDING WITH THE CARIBBEAN
After Hurricane Irma’s devastating passage through the Caribbean, ravaging the islands of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, Martinique and Guadeloupe have now been hit by the violence of Hurricane Maria.
The cost has been incalculable for these Caribbean islands with which Dunkerque-Port and the whole Dunkirk area have very close links, stretching back over many years.
There has been massive destruction and the human toll is tragic. Though it is still too early to evaluate the full extent of the damage caused by this natural disaster, Dunkerque-Port extends its sympathy to the people of these islands for which it has a special affinity, and asks everyone, as they are able, to participate in the many initiatives set up to help and support those who have lost so much.
